  2. You have assembled a nice variety of items. I was taken with the plague doctor mask and the steampunk inspired watch. The steampunk cat hit a funny bone for me as it reminded me of the popular mid-1960s “Pity Kitty” art by Gig (who also made the Pity Puppies). http://www.angelfire.com/ny/yorik/gig/kitty.html

    1. The plague mask seems to be a good price too. And, oooh yes! I see what you mean about those big-eyes images from the 60's. They've made a reappearance now, through the door marked 'anime'. But now I've seen those, I'm reminded of 'Allegro Non Troppo', the irreverent answer to Disney's Fantasia, lewd and playful that is, apart from the deeply sad little sketch about an old house and an abandoned cat. Presumably inspired by the same sad, big-eyed cats.

      It's cathartic, I promise.

  4. Fabulously eclectic mix of fun! Though that plague mask gives me the willies...and yet, strangely, turns me on... Or maybe not so strangely, as it happens. ;-)

    1. I have to agree, plague masks are pretty amazing. First, all the allure of a mask + science + history + deviance + Steampunk. What's not to love? :)

  5. What a fun collection of steampunk! I am oddly drawn to the Plague Doctor mask and thinking it would be awesome for Halloween!

    1. Oh, yes, Danni! I love plague masks. I really need to get one for Hubby (for his steampunk study...) And yes, Halloween would be the perfect cover for buying one!

  7. What do you suppose would be the proper way to display a Plague Doctor Mask in one's home do you suppose? ;o)

Isn't it always the way ... there's always a million things to buy for yourself when you're supposed to be shopping for everyone else. :P

    1. I know, right?

I think the correct place would be on a skull, a bust of Napoleon or on an Egyptian mummy. I think that would be proper, and not upset the ladies. :)
